Music does not begin with a contract, a label or an algorithm. It begins with someone creating something.

Over the past thirty years, I have learned the music industry from different sides: as a producer and artist, but also as a manager, publisher and label owner.

It was especially as a manager that I saw something that stayed with me. I met incredibly talented artists who knew exactly how to make great music, but had far less guidance about what happens next.

Who owns what? Which rights do you have? What needs to be arranged, and when? How do you get a release noticed? What do a label, publisher or distributor actually do? And how do you get heard among all the other releases?

Those questions have only become more important. The music industry changes incredibly fast. Streaming, social media, algorithms, samples, rights and AI constantly create new opportunities, but also new questions.

That is why we built the Foxx Artist Hub.

Not because I believe I have every answer. I do not. Even after all these years, I am still learning. But the experience we do have is something we can share.

Today I work on several sides of the industry, but my sympathy will always be with the place where it all begins: the artist with talent, a good idea and music that deserves to be heard.

If this Hub helps someone make one better decision, avoid one mistake or simply understand this industry a little better, then it is doing exactly what it was made for.

Sharing knowledge costs nothing. And musicians helping each other move forward has never made the music world worse.
